Penumbra | 2018
A collaboration with Linda Fredheim for the exhibition Penumbra held at Rosny Barn in 2018.
There is a period of twilight where the sun is between 4 and 6 degrees below the horizon when the light takes on a cool and ethereal quality. There is just enough light to finish a walk, or make anchorage, and this blue hour is for us often associated with the end of a special day.
This work bore out of a desire to encapsulate a treasured memory of landscape. The box form protects, reveals, and conceals vignettes of our personal experience. Transforming a vast experience of nature into an intimate moment.
